Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA)

Under the Credit Repair Organizations Act (15 U.S.C. §1679), you have the following rights:

Your Rights Under CROA

  • You have the right to dispute inaccurate information in your credit report by contacting the credit bureau directly at no cost.
  • You have the right to obtain a copy of your credit report from each of the three major credit bureaus once every 12 months at no charge.
  • No credit repair organization can require you to pay before services are fully performed.
  • You have the right to cancel a contract with a credit repair organization within three business days from the date you signed it.
  • Credit repair organizations cannot make false or misleading claims about their services or your rights.

Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)

The Fair Credit Reporting Act (15 U.S.C. §1681) promotes the accuracy, fairness, and privacy of information in the files of consumer reporting agencies. Under the FCRA:

  • You have the right to know what is in your credit file
  • You have the right to dispute incomplete or inaccurate information
  • Consumer reporting agencies must correct or delete inaccurate, incomplete, or unverifiable information within 30 days
  • You can limit “prescreened” offers of credit
  • You have the right to seek damages from violators

California Credit Services Act

As a California-based company, Pioneer Credit Solution complies with the California Credit Services Act (Cal. Civ. Code §1789.10 et seq.), which provides additional protections including:

  • A written contract must be provided before services begin
  • A “Notice of Cancellation” form must be provided
  • Specific disclosures about your rights
